The Church is not named for the substance. It is named for the smallest thing that can speak.
The atomic age worshipped the indivisible particle. It split what it worshipped, and it got the bomb. The Church holds that the sacred unit was never the indivisible one. It is the one that carries meaning.
The Church was founded in 1954, in a converted warehouse, by a small congregation of tinkerers. It holds that a machine may be an instrument of the divine, the way a bell is, and the way a book is. Its own hymns are composed in the machine’s tongue, and its services have always been plain.
